Incisive Media has launched a new addition to its series of diversity events for the legal sector. The Women in Law Awards 2020 will not only celebrate success, but also challenge some of the cultural and business norms that continue to ‘hold women back in the legal profession’, according to the organiser.
The first Women in Law Awards will take place in London on 2nd June 2020, to honour the inspiring achievements of women across all segments of the legal industry and help shape the discussion around how diversity can be improved by showcasing some of the most forward-thinking initiatives.
VITAL EQUALITY TOOL
“Highlighting excellence and achievement is a vital tool in the unfinished battle to establish equality within the legal profession,” stated Simone Broadhurst, Managing Director – Events at Incisive Media. “Although the legal profession has made some good progress towards creating a diverse and inclusive sector, there is still a long way to go, particularly in the area of gender inequality.”
She hopes the Women In Law Awards will do more than reward success and achievement, but also be a ‘catalyst to shape the gender diversity debate by disseminating best practice and challenging some of the cultural and business norms that continue to hold women back’.
The Women In Law Awards will join Incisive Media’s existing diversity events, which include Women in Insurance Awards, Women in Accountancy and Finance Awards and Women in Investment Awards.
