Ferrero North America, part of the global confectionery company Ferrero Group, has announced the appointment of Kamillah Knight as its Director of Diversity and Inclusion.
In this new role, Knight will be responsible for advancing Ferrero’s global efforts on diversity in the North America and help to shape its inclusion strategy across the region. She will report to Feng Ye, Vice President of Talent and Diversity for Ferrero North America. Commenting on the appointment, Ye stated: “Kamillah’s strong background and experience fostering inclusive cultures will help accelerate our existing efforts into more strategic action. We are excited for Kamillah to join our team so that we can continue to drive greater accountability as we grow and expand our diversity and inclusion efforts.”
Knight will work with Ye and Antonio Bogi, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Ferrero North America, to help build and deploy diversity and inclusion strategies and programmes to attract, cultivate and elevate diverse talent. She will also work collaboratively with other business leaders to create tools and resources to support the adoption of practices and behaviours that enable a diverse and inclusive workforce.
DIVERSITY & INCLUSION BUSINESS IMPERATIVE
“Respect and responsibility are a cornerstone of our Ferrero corporate values and our commitment to foster a more diverse and inclusive organisation is a business imperative,” said Paul Chibe, President and CEO, Ferrero North America. “We’re moving forward on this journey to ensure that our business fully represents and reflects our consumers and society, and Kamillah will play an integral leadership role in helping further advance our progress.”
The appointment comes just a few months after Chibe spoke on the importance of racial equality and building a culture of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity at the company, following the death of George Floyd in America earlier this year. “While we have always championed these goals, we recognise that we have work to do,” he stated. “We are working together to accelerate our progress to establish programmes that foster a more diverse and inclusive culture than we have today.”
‘FERRERIAN FAMILY’
Commenting on the new role, Knight said: “Ferrero’s culture, where all ‘Ferrerians’ feel like family, is very special. I am excited to work with the team to help create a workplace that reflects the diversity of our consumers and help make all employees feel included and welcomed at Ferrero.”
Knight comes from Unilever where she was the Diversity and Inclusion Lead. In that role, she developed inclusivity training that provided leaders with education and skills to better manage diverse talent, as well as managed events and partnerships that supported Unilever’s diversity plans. Knight holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Sociology, a Master of Public Administration and a Diversity and Inclusion for Human Resources Certificate from Cornell University.
