The Business Disability Forum has announced the launch of a new career development course specifically designed for employees with a disability. The programme, launched in association with the Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh, is designed to help unlock the talent of disabled staff ‘who have the potential to grow and offer their employers much more’. It will help employees with a disability to plan and take control of their lives and careers, say the organisers.
This practical course aims to bring together a group of up to 12 participants with a disability, so they get the opportunity to explore the common barriers that can impede career progress, as well as learn about tools and techniques that can aid their career planning.
DESIGNED TO MAXIMISE POTENTIAL
According to the Business Disability Forum, the intensive, three day residential course (in a fully accessible venue) is aimed at all disabled employees who wish to maximise their personal potential or career development. There is no limit to the ‘degree’ of disability and is open to anyone with an impairment or disability regardless of how much of an impact they feel it has on their work. It could be a well-managed condition with little or no impact, or a disability that requires adjustments at work.
The course will run twice this year (in October and November 2019) and will be delivered by personal development coach and Business Disability Forum Ambassador, Phil Friend, and trained expert in neuro linguistic programming, Dave Rees.
