The UK’s unsung diversity and inclusion champions were spotlighted at this year’s National Diversity Awards (NDAs), which were held in partnership with HSBC UK.

In a glittering ceremony held on 4th October 2024, outstanding individuals and organisations were honoured for their relentless efforts in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion across the UK. The winners emerged from an incredible 90,000 nominations and were whittled down to 125 finalists across 15 award categories.

From a 12-year-old disability advocate to a Mixed Martial Arts figurehead, a Down Syndrome entrepreneur, leading dairy producers, and Windrush pioneers, the winners represented the full spectrum of British society. Each one was commended for their tireless work in combating discrimination and breaking barriers in their communities. Charities working with marginalised women, elderly care, and the LGBTQ+ community also received well-deserved accolades.

Ian Stuart, Chief Executive of HSBC UK, praised the diversity champions, stating:
“Diverse communities are the backbone of British society. We are incredibly proud to support the National Diversity Awards in recognising individuals and groups making a positive impact on diversity, equity, and inclusion across the UK. It was an honour to join such amazing role models and changemakers.”

13 YEARS OF DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

The awards honour those making a significant difference in advancing equality and fostering inclusion in their communities. During these uncertain times, the NDAs offer a beacon of hope, showcasing the remarkable efforts of Britain’s unsung heroes.

This year, Clare Balding, CBE, renowned broadcaster, author, and advocate for diversity and inclusion, once again hosted the event. “I’m honoured and delighted to return as host for these uplifting and inspiring awards,” Balding shared. The National Diversity Awards celebrate all that’s good and powerful in an inclusive society and bring well-deserved recognition to community heroes whose hard work might otherwise go unnoticed.”
