The Clear Company has organised an open lecture on gender and sexuality for diversity and inclusion (D&I) practitioners on 10 February 2022.
Gender and Sexuality trending topics once again. However, without a proper understanding of the cultural and institutional backdrop to the subject, short term, restrictive D&I initiatives can be the result. The learning objective for the session is to expand the conversation on gender and sexuality. The event will present a conceptual framework that allows practitioners to contemplate the bigger picture; and promote courageous, authentically inclusive and pragmatic solutions to their organisations/clients.
BROADENING THE CONVERSATION ON LGBTQ+ MATTERS
Hosted by Clear Company’s Consultant Maria Carolina Baggio, the session will:
- Discuss the 4 key concepts of Gender and Sexuality.
- Look into facts and figures in the UK and the world.
- Unpack the LGBT+ acronym and understand the different communities it unifies.
- Understand the current opportunities and challenges organisations have been facing in this space.
- Explore what organisations have been doing in this space and how to expand these actions towards authentic inclusion
- Have a safe space and the opportunity to ask questions; and share experiences of coming from different organisations and national backgrounds.
The virtual session is three-hours long. Delegates will have the opportunity to network and work with each other in breakout groups. The facilitator will also share further learning resources after the session.
