National Diversity Awards

The wait is over – nominations for the UK’s 2025 National Diversity Awards (NDA) are officially open.

Now in its 14th year, this prestigious event celebrates individuals, communities and organisations that are making an undeniable impact in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

With diversity initiatives facing increasing scrutiny, the NDA serves as a powerful platform to highlight the resilience and dedication of those pushing for progress. This year’s awards are more critical than ever, shining a light on those committed to fostering inclusive workplaces, communities and industries.

HONOURING TRAILBLAZERS & CHANGEMAKERS

Organised by Inclusive Companies in partnership with ITV News, the National Diversity Awards bring national recognition to those making tangible strides in DEI. The 2025 event is backed by headline sponsor HSBC UK, alongside major supporters including AutoTrader, Airbus, BT, Kantar, and Ovo. These companies recognize the undeniable value of diverse perspectives and inclusive business practices.

The awards span six key categories, honouring the changemakers leading the charge for a more equitable society:

  • Positive Role Model – Recognising individuals championing diversity across age, disability, gender, LGBTQ+, race, faith, or religion.
  • Community Organisation – Celebrating grassroots movements fostering inclusion in age, disability, gender, LGBTQ+, race, faith, or multi-strand efforts.
  • Entrepreneur of Excellence – Spotlighting business leaders who prioritize diversity in their ventures.
  • Diverse Company – Recognising organisations that embed DEI into their DNA.
  • Celebrity of the Year – Honouring public figures using their platforms to advocate for inclusion.
  • Lifetime Achiever – Acknowledging long-term dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion.

WHY DIVERSITY & INCLUSION MATTERS

With the corporate world facing increasing pressure to balance economic priorities with social responsibility, the NDA serves as a reminder that diversity is not just a trend – it’s a business imperative and a societal necessity. The awards shine a light on those proving that inclusion drives innovation, strengthens communities and creates lasting impact.

“We are all diverse by design and cannot allow the threat of an anti-diversity narrative to take hold,” shared Paul Sesay, CEO of Inclusive Companies and founder of the National Diversity Awards. “The National Diversity Awards provide a powerful platform to give public recognition to those who are changing other people’s lives for the better and I defy anyone reading the entries and impact statements from nominees to tell me diversity doesn’t work. At difficult times such as now, we must stand firm and seize every opportunity to show the positive impact of diverse individuals and organisations within our communities.”

Adding to his comments, HSBC UK’s Head of Inclusion, Coral Taylor, said: “Inclusive communities are at the heart of British society. We are incredibly proud to be the headline sponsor of the 2025 National Diversity Awards, helping recognise individuals and groups who are making a positive impact on inclusion across the UK.  We look forward to celebrating the incredible role models and change makers nominated this year.”

The winners will be revealed at a star-studded awards ceremony on September 19th at Liverpool’s Anglican cathedral, hosted by Clare Balding CBE.

“I’m thrilled and deeply honoured to return as host for the National Diversity Awards,” says Clare Balding OBE. “Recognising the individuals, organisations and charities that go above and beyond to improve their communities is truly vital.
