The UK’s Race Equality Week, themed #ListenActChange, kicks off on 5th February this year until the 11th February 2024.
Now in its fourth year, Race Equality Week, organised by Race Equality Matters, is a UK-wide initiative uniting thousands of organisations and individuals to address race equality barriers in the workplace.
“Four years ago, Javed Thomas and I embarked on a journey by founding Race Equality Matters, a CIC. Our goal was to investigate successful strategies within organisations for promoting Intersectional Racial Equality,” states Raj Tulsiani, Chair and Co-founder of Race Equality Matters, and CEO of Green Park.
RACE EQUALITY MATTERS
“While change is happening slowly, our commitment to assisting organisations in learning from the real-life experiences we’ve gathered from our 4 million users, 4,500 companies that have downloaded our guides, the 1,500 Race Network Chairs who collaborate with us, and the forward-thinking individuals who believe that intersectional inclusion can be the most cost-effective way for organisations to simultaneously boost productivity and retain their staff remains steadfast. Achieving this in the UK requires concrete evidence of addressing race as a pivotal topic,” added Tulsiani.
Over 4,500 organisations engaged in Race Equality Week in 2023, and employers like Lloyd’s, HS2, HSBC, Natwest, Heathrow, Wincanton, Environments Agency, AIG, Merseyside Police and many more will join Race Equality Week 2024. Expert speakers at the opening event, include:
- Mark Lomas, Head of Culture, Lloyd’s
