Great Place To Work has revealed this year’s top 100 Best Workplaces for working parents.
The competition for attracting and retaining working parents is more intense than ever, according to Great Place To Work. In the wake of the Great Resignation, employers must rapidly evolve their practices and strategies to meet the needs of working moms and dads, or risk losing their talent to other organisations that do.
This year’s Best Workplaces for Parents are doing just that, as reported. With high-trust, these parent-friendly workplaces aren’t just better for people, they’re better for business too.
SUPPORTING WORKING PARENTS NEEDS
This year’s Best Workplaces for Parents top 100 list is based on analysis of confidential survey responses from more than six million US employees; and compares the experiences of parents and non-parents within each organisation, as well as the available benefits and support programmes. Around 85% of Great Place to Work’s list evaluation was based on what parents say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential at work, no matter who they are or what they do for the business. The remaining 15% percent was based on how parenting status influenced the degree to which employees from all backgrounds are equally involved in innovation opportunities, and believe that company values are lived and that management is effective. The survey also took into account an organisation’s paid parental leave and adoption benefits, its approach to flexible working schedules, and its childcare and dependent healthcare benefits.
“Congratulations to Great Place to Work’s Best Workplaces for Parents,” stated Michael C Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “The pandemic presented parents with unique challenges that impacted their work- and home-lives. But these companies paid close attention to the experiences of their working parents and ensured that they didn’t have to choose between a thriving career and being present for their children.”

FLEXIBILITY FOR WORKING PARENTS
Global consulting firm Protiviti has been named as one of the ‘Best Workplaces for Parents’ in 2021 by Great Place to Work (ranking 40). Protiviti offers a range of programs for its working parents, including an employee networking group for parents; gender-neutral paid parental leave; and a backup dependent care programme. All Protiviti employees have access to its extensive Employee Assistance Program and the firm’s leaders encourage and support a flexible work environment to help meet its employees’ personal and professional needs.
“At Protiviti, we continually strive to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and that encourages and supports our people throughout the different stages of their lives and careers,” said Protiviti Executive Vice President, Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Susan Haseley. “We’re pleased to provide our working parents with flexibility, programmes and benefits to continue to grow their careers with us and be a part of the Protiviti family.”
HELP TO JUGGLE WORK & PARENTING
Invisors, a Workday Services Partner, was also honoured as one of this year’s Best Workplaces for Parents for the first time at (51). Around 97% of its employees said Invisors is a great place to work. This number is 38% higher than the average US company.
“As a working parent, this recognition means a lot,” commented Aggie Nolan, Partner at Invisors. “We are a tight-knit boutique consultancy with teammates starting new families who need time to bond while adjusting to their new responsibilities; and those with school-aged children who need to prioritise attending a book character parade, doctor’s appointment, or teacher conference. Juggling working and parenting can be hard, so it’s important to have policies that enable our teammates to take care of themselves and their families.”
The Best Workplaces for Parents list is highly competitive. Great Place to Work selected the list using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they are a Great Place to Work-Certified organisation. Great Place to Work is a company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.
