In light of the rise in Anti-Asian and Asian-American harassment and discrimination, Jennifer Brown Consulting has partnered with non-profit Hate is a Virus to offer training on how to identify and stop Anti-Asian bias in professional spaces this month.
Anti-Asian/American bias is not new, albeit often ignored. It has always festered in business environments and manifested in detrimental ways. As the coronavirus pandemic escalated, Asian-American unemployment rates increased by more than 450% from February to June 2020, revealing a greater rate of increase than that of other racial groups. All the while, approximately two million Asian Americans – a higher proportion than their share of the US population – were putting themselves at risk as frontline and essential workers.
Anti-Asian/American bias must end. Corporate leaders globally must act now to stop Asian hate and discrimination. But that will not happen until it is confronted, according to the organisers Jennifer Brown Consulting’s Senior Consultant Adrienne Lawrence; and Hate Is a Virus Founders Tammy Cho and Michelle Hanabusa. In this webinar they will reveal how anti-Asian/American bias manifests in professional spaces and how you can help to stop it. There are two training sessions organised this month on the 19 and 22 April. Click here for more information or to register.
