The UK’s national and regional news publisher Reach Plc has announced the appointment of Dr Julie Humphreys as Head of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).
The newly created role is an important first step in Reach creating a truly diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects its core values and the values of its customers, said the publisher. She will report directly to CEO Jim Mullen and will be part of the Human Resources Senior Leadership Team.
“2020 has shone a light on the importance of diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing,” said Mullen. “With Julie’s appointment, we are committing to making positive changes at Reach for the long-term.”
Commenting on the appointment, Humphreys stated: “Reach is committed to building a more inclusive culture. There is already so much work going on behind the scenes to make that happen, I’m excited to join and build on that work with passionate people.”
INSPIRING LEADERSHIP
Humphreys joins from the FTSE 20 Compass Group, where she was Group Head of Diversity and Inclusion, responsible for its global D&I strategy. In fact, just last month she was named as one of the Top Women to Watch by Women in Hospitality, Travel and Retail (WiHTL).
The women in this list were selected because of their “inspiring leadership, their commercial impact, their track record for entrepreneurialism and innovation or their wider contribution to the sector or society at large”, confirmed WiHTL. Click here to read more.
