The UK’s Business Disability Forum (BDF) is calling for disability smart stories in a bid to drive greater inclusion. 2020 has undoubtedly been a year like no other. The pandemic has changed the way that we all live and work. Despite the challenges, many positive stories are emerging of how businesses and service providers have stepped up to meet the needs of disabled colleagues and customers this year.
Organisations and individuals have worked hard to ensure disabled people are involved and included, confirmed BDF. So the disability charity is on a mission to collect some of these stories so it can share them later this year to encourage learning and drive greater inclusion.
DISABILITY SMART STORIES
“Our experiences of the pandemic will all be different. Disability Smart Stories is an opportunity for us to capture and share what has worked well, and to carry those learnings forward into 2021,” said Business Disability Forum’s CEO, Diane Lightfoot. The disability charity plans to document and share some of these stories on its website and social media channels. It will publish the stories on 3 December 2020 to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
If you have a disability smart stories to tell, send it to stories@businessdisabilityforum.org.uk in any format (video, vlog or blog). The deadline to submit your story is 26 October 2020.
