LATINA Style has revealed the 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the US. Bank of America lands the number one spot on the list and is honoured as “Company of the Year” for Latinas, confirmed the publisher. Accenture takes the second spot in the list, followed by New York Life, Johnson & Johnson and AT&T.
Commenting on the news, Bank of America’s CEO Brian Moynihan stated: “At Bank of America, we have a long-standing commitment to advance diverse representation across all levels of our company. This recognition from LATINA Style underscores our efforts to attract, retain and support the professional development and career growth of Latina talent.”
RESPECTED EVALUATION
The LATINA Style’s 50 Report is “the most respected evaluation of corporate America’s career advancement opportunities for Hispanic women” according to the publisher. In fact, it’s the standard that corporate America has been using to measure its diversity accomplishments in the Latin community since 1998.
Based on 2019 data, this year’s survey particularly focuses on Latina promotions, recruitment and retention, as well as the increase in the number of Latina employees at each company.
“Over the years the survey has also evolved to ensure more opportunities for Latinas are taken into consideration,” said Robert Bard, CEO of LATINA Style, Inc. “With the mission to recognise the work corporate America is doing to advance Latinas, the survey not only reflects the opportunities provided to Latinas, but it is also a reflection of the company’s culture and overall focus on diversity and inclusion. It is our pleasure to announce that this year Bank of America has been selected as our Company of the Year.”
CULTIVATING KEY PARTNERSHIPS
Business leaders from CEOs to diversity and inclusion chiefs have confirmed that getting a spot on lists like this often takes years of hard work. MGM Resorts, for example, confirms that it has established partnerships with numerous Hispanic national and local organisations, over the last few years. “We are honoured to be recognised as a leading supporter of the Latina community across our recruiting efforts and for national, regional and local community support and partnerships,” commented MGM Resorts Chief People, Inclusion and Sustainability Officer, Jyoti Chopra.
“At MGM Resorts we take pride in our commitment to making impactful and enduring change for underrepresented groups in the workforce and the workplace. We intend to relentlessly focus on fostering an inclusive culture and work environment and supporting the development and growth of our people,” she added.
ANNUAL AWARDS CELEBRATIONS
Claro Enterprise Solutions, a leading global technology services company, also made the top 50 this year. “We are proud to have so many Latinas in senior leadership roles, and proud that they have earned those positions by being the most qualified candidates,” shared Jorge Rodriguez, President and CEO of Claro Enterprise Solutions. “Receiving this honour reflects our commitment to developing and maintaining a workplace of opportunity, diversity and inclusion.”
The annual awards honouring the best 50 companies for Latinas will take place in February 2021 during the LATINA Style 50 Awards and Diversity Leaders Conference in Washington, DC.
