US construction company Granite has announced the appointment of Jorge A. Quezada in the newly created role of Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I). Reporting to Phillip M. DeCocco, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, he will be responsible for implementing strategies that address Granite’s guiding belief that diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences enhance creativity and innovation.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Jorge’s background and experience join Granite in this new and important role,” confirmed DeCocco. “While we are in the early stages of our journey, I am excited about the positive impact that our diversity and inclusion efforts will have on the evolution of Granite’s culture and future success.”
Quezada joins Granite from Northwestern Mutual, where he served as Senior Director, D&I and Leadership Development, responsible for designing and executing D&I strategies, as well as leadership and training programmes. Prior to Northwestern Mutual, Quezada served as Chief Diversity Officer at Kraft Foods from 2013 to 2015 and as Inclusivity Diversity Director at Allstate Insurance Company from 2011 to 2013.
