INvolve, the membership organisation that champions diversity and inclusion in business, has announced the launch of The 2019 HERoes Women Role Model lists. This year’s lists, supported by Yahoo Finance, showcase 100 Women Executives, 50 Women Future Leaders and 40 Advocate Executives.

According to INvolve, these lists of inspirational women and advocate role models showcase the incredible work being done to champion D&I in business.

100 FEMALE EXECUTIVES

Female executives such as Facebook’s Vice President EMEA Nicola Mendelsohn, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Chair, Europe, Middle East and Asia, Farmida Bi and WPP’s UK Country Manager, Karen Blackett, are featured in this year’s 100 Women Executives list. The female executives that have made it in this list are leading by example and driving change to increase gender diversity in the workplace, says INvolve. Nominees for this category are working within three levels from the chief executive at large organisations, or are leaders of smaller organisations.

50 FUTURE WOMEN LEADERS

The 50 Women Future Leaders list comprises executives, such as Standard Chartered Bank’s Associate (Financial & Strategic Investors Group), Kemi Adetu, Virgin’s Senior Campaign Manager, Stephanie Matthews, and Salesforce’s Corporate Counsel, Nilufar Anwar.

Although these inspirational women have yet to reach senior leadership positions, they are recognised for “making a significant contribution to gender diversity at work”, according to INvolve.

TOP 40 ADVOCATE EXECUTIVES

Finally, the 40 Advocate Executives list comprises senior leaders who are advocates for women in business and dedicated to creating a more diverse and inclusive business environment for women. Nominees for this category tend to work within three levels from the chief executive in larger organisations, or are leaders of smaller organisations. The top three D&I champions in this year’s list include easyJet’s CEO Johan Lundren, Salesforce’s Chairman & Co-CEO, Marc Benioff, and Intercontinental Hotels Group’s CEO, Keith Barr.

CELEBRATING ROLE MODELS

Commenting on the launch of this year’s lists, INvolve Founder & CEO, Suki Sandhu, stated: “It’s the third time we’ve released our HERoes lists and I never fail to be wowed by all the incredible things that are being done to empower women and really drive that female talent pipeline.” However, he was “disappointed that this year we’ve had to reduce the number of advocates on our list, from 50 to 40”.

The lists were celebrated at a reception, hosted by Deloitte, “and it was a truly wonderful evening”, said Sandhu. “It’s the first time we’ve held a celebration for our HERoes role models, and it was such an inspiring room full of people.”

Next year’s HERoes lists will be released a little earlier and celebrated with a Gala, so save the date (2nd July 2020), added Sandhu.
