Community Business, a not-for-profit organisation in Asia, which supports businesses to have a positive impact on people and communities, has announced the launch of a guide to help employers committed to lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT+) inclusion in India.
The new publication LGBT+ Workplace Inclusion in India: The Definitive Guide was created to celebrate the first anniversary of India’s historic 6th September ruling, overturning Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. The guide presents a comprehensive review of the context for LGBT+ issues in India and provides a ‘robust’ set of recommendations for employers committed to creating inclusive workplaces for LGBT+ employees. It also features case studies from 17 companies in India.
The recent launch event “featured a fantastic line up of keynote speakers and panelists sharing reflections on what has changed in the last year and examples of best practice”, stated Community Business. “We are grateful to Goldman Sachs for hosting the launch event and to Dell and Goldman Sachs for sponsoring the Guide.”
