World Population Day is observed on July 11th every year. It was established by the United Nations Development Programme in 1989 to raise awareness about solutions related to the issues of growing population.

One of the greatest consequences of a growing population is the quick depletion of natural resources. However, apart from this threat, World Population Day is also an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of brother and sisterhood, and accept the responsibility we have towards each other.

Each country celebrates World Population Day in a different way. The UN’s Population Division works closely with agencies, programmes and various other bodies to execute programmes on population. For more information, check out: https://www.un.org/en/events/populationday/
